Members holdings
NCPV preserves well-characterised, authenticated human pathogenic viruses in a secure facility, and supplies them to the scientific community according to national and international guidelines. It currently holds over 400 different strains which are supplied as live frozen virus; irradiated viruses are also available for some strains of Coronavirus and Mpox. NCPV operates as part of the Culture Collections of UK Health Security Agency, which comprises ECACC, NCTC, NCPF in addition to NCPV.
Services offered
In addition to supplying viruses and virus nucleic acid preparations, NCPV undertakes contract research and development work for customers. This includes activities such as screening for viruses, inactivation of pathogens, preparation of virus-derived products, biosafety testing etc.

NCPV have a quality management system in place that has been externally assessed to the international standard ISO 9001:2015.
